I noticed two
types of meters: Direct and indirect reading meters...what is that?
Direct means one does not need an interface module to modify the signal into
a measuring value that the meter is designed for.
Indirect meters does require such an interface module.
For AC voltage they are called PT - Potential transformers and AC current
they are CT - Current Transformers.
Peculiarly DC voltage does not have a designed commercially available
voltage transducer because one geerally purchase a DC meter wih the correct
DC voltage input but easy enough
- if accuracy is not critical - we could use a resistive network to
drop the voltage.
But DC current does have a shunt to measure higher currents - indirectly.
